  • The Battle of Gettysburg-- credit for discovering the Confederate General’s movement and bringing Union Troops to the hill in time went to Gen. C.K. Warren, but before he arrived, it was “that wretched little signal station upon Round Top that day,” recalled one of Longstreet’s officers, “caused one of our divisions to lose over two hours, and probably delayed our assault nearly that long.” Two hours in a battle where two minutes counted in saving a nation.
