The artist created these from wire and modeling clay. If the photos he had taken didn't show him the action or position of the horse that he wanted, he would sculpt the movement and incorporate it into his illustrations. These three bronzes were made from the clay sculptures and are set into a rustic solid wood base. The base is designed to allow the piece swivel gently for further inspection.
